Working Families Australia (WFA)
is a new political party dedicated to making the lives of ordinary Australians better.

Guided by common sense and a desire for social justice, we want a fair go for all Australians;

One where workers are paid a decent wage, where their rights are respected and where their children will have a future.

We believe it is possible to create decent local jobs, to make housing more affordable and to give every person the chance to live a happy and fulfilled life.

We are tired of the excuses and the “politics as usual” attitude of the major parties. We have reached the point in our country where the political elites need to step aside and allow ordinary people to take back democracy; to foster compassion and wisdom and to build a better Australia.

We seek real political change for all workers and their families through progressive reform and social & economic justice.

Our commitment is to view any proposed law or policy with one simple rule, "Will it benefit the working people of this nation?”

We will advocate for:

  • More sustainable, permanent jobs, and an end to insecure (casual) employment.
  • A national Jobs Guarantee Program that ensures full employment.
  • The end of wage stagnation, which is a crisis hurting many families.
  • A fair taxation system which does not penalise working people.
  • Realistic funding to meet the needs of health, education, the NDIS, aged care and all community services.
  • Realistic pension levels and respect for older Australians.
  • An overhaul of the political process and Parliamentary functions: no more time wasting questions or childish behaviour from MPs, no more snouts-in-the-trough for politicians but accountability and consequences for their actions.
  • To fight for workers’ rights, fair workplace laws, workers’ safety and access to Trade Unionism.
  • To protect our unique natural environment and urgently address the effects of climate change.
  • A treaty to ensure true representation and justice for Aboriginal Australians.
  • A system that housing affordability is accessible to all.
  • Common sense changes that will ensure a fair go for all people.
  • For compassion and justice to be part of the political discourse of our nation.

We are a truly independent political movement, as such we will;

  • Demand honesty of all levels of government, including supporting a Federal Independent Commission Against Corruption.
  • Demand that Australian manufacturing is protected so it can create sustainable permanent jobs.
  • Demand that all essential services are again Australian owned and controlled.
  • Demand that harmful free trade deals are no longer supported.
  • Demand that all government procurement polices place locally made and sourced products and services as a priority. Governments must support Australian Made as much as possible.
  • Demand that governments invest in infrastructure and nation building projects.
  • Demand that we immediately cease selling the very soil we stand on to foreign powers and investors. We must protect our sovereignty.
